About us.
Following a blissful yet hectic decade of travelling and living in far-flung places like India, Iran & Turkey we decided it was time to take hold of something more permanent. My husband Eric & I, with our two young children in mind, searched for a place that could become our enduring home and a place for us to spend time with family and friends. I had also daydreamed of finding a place with the potential to host retreats, workshops and events.
The place we found was La Mestive.
Standing steady for more than 200 years with her cocoon-like stone walls and time-smoothed Girondine tiles, we have found our anchor in the world.
La Mestive is our family home but we welcome other families and groups to stay here when our travels continue, and as we develop this side of things I see we’ve only just started to unlock her potential.

About the house.
La Mestive has an irresistible charm - the house combines history-rich character with modern comforts, embellished with treasures brought in from across the world and found in local brocantes.
Spacious communal areas and cosy spaces are plentiful within the house and gardens. The pool and sun terrace with loungers enjoys uninterrupted views across the rolling hills, or choose a shady spot in the front garden complete with hammock and deck chairs.
Yoga classes take place in our beautiful barn, mats and props are provided.
All the bedrooms are individually decorated in the same relaxed and eclectic style you’ll find in the rest of the house. Bed linen, bath and pool towels are provided.
Bedrooms & bathrooms.
There are five double bedrooms, and a twin room which is ideal for two friends sharing.
During the retreats couples and friends are welcome to share rooms depending on the overall number of guests. Please mention this when getting in touch and we will let you know the price difference per person.
There are two bathrooms upstairs with showers, a large bathroom with bath and shower downstairs plus additional toilets.
Retreat & holiday hire.
